'Prices up' in February

House prices grew in February, according to new figures released by
property portal Assetz this week.
While the average price of a property was £211,472 in January,
figures jumped to £213,430 in February, the firm said on its
Price Watch.
And compared to February last year, values were up from
£202,911, an increase of £10,519, Assetz asserted.
Chief executive at the company Stuart Law claimed that an element
of stability may have entered into the property market after some
tough months.
He commented: "Have we witnessed an end to the reducing rate of
house price growth? With annual house price growth stabilised at
5.4 per cent for the second consecutive month and monthly house
prices up 0.7 per cent in February - quite possibly."
Mr Law was referring to annual inflation of 5.4 per cent in both
January and February.
Consumers were recently urged to look for the best deals available
by the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
