Property 'is still a good investment option'

Property continues to be a good option for private investors,
despite the difficult economic climate, one expert in the sector
has claimed.
Editor at LandlordZONE Tom Entwistle commented that purchasing
property is still "one of the best options" for people looking for
an investment.
"Given the strength of the private residential lettings market in
the UK, landlords will continue to build their portfolios," he
explained.
Mr Entwistle added that the key to being successful is by being
cautious with property selection and ensuring that prospective
buyers purchase investments in the right areas and at the best
price available.
He also noted that terraced properties are popular among landlords
who are expanding their portfolios because they are relatively
inexpensive to buy and generally have low maintenance costs.
On January 19th, Paragon Mortgages published a survey which
revealed that ten per cent of landlords want to expand their
portfolios in the first quarter of 2010, with 65 per cent favouring
a terraced property as an investment.
