Anyone who has ever lived here will tell you what a great place it is, but until fairly recently they have managed to keep this fact to themselves. Now the secret is out and families in search of outstanding local schools, fresh air and good value, period homes are moving in.
Like its neighbour Muswell Hill, Alexandra Park has a good stock of period homes set on pretty, tree-lined streets, with attractive community-minded parades of local shops like the Alexandra Park Road Parade, which periodically host charity fairs and local artists. However, housing stock is less expensive here and you can get more for your money. Add the amazing green space of the Palace and great transport to the city from Alexandra Palace Station, with trains straight to Moorgate and links at Finsbury Park to the Victoria and Piccadilly tube lines, and no wonder this area is a winner.
