It’s going to be milder over the weekend with temperatures around 8 or 9 degrees. Happy days – but the price to pay is showers of rain. Never mind, sounds like a good excuse to do a little snooping on what’s going on in your garden between downpours. Why not join the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch which starts tomorrow and ends on the 30th. The idea is for the public to help track what’s going on with our bird life – their numbers, species and location.

If you haven’t already sent off for your pack you might like to sign up for the next one now but I don’t see why you can’t join in anyway. https://ww2.rspb.org.uk/get-involved/activities/birdwatch
This year we’re being told to look out for this little fellow – The Waxwing:

these birds usually hang out in Scandinavia but pop over here when times get too hard and very cold weather limits the availability of food.
Talking of food – I’ve just noticed that there is a new farmer’s market in town. The Highgate Village Market got going in September and you can find it in the front playground of St. Michael’s Primary School on North Road, N6 4BG, Saturdays, 11am-3pm. Pick up some essentials like Greek Mountain Tea!
