I have a fox problem in my garden.
Why are foxes a problem? Generally for three reasons: they dig where I don’t want them to, they poo
and they scream, particularly in the breeding season. Apart from that they are completely shameless, sunning themselves in plain sight and trooping through my space in a family crocodile leaving a worn track in my lawn (which isn’t a crime, I know, and is sometimes utterly charming but ..) So, what to do?
A product that caught my eye recently is Silent Roar, made from lion’s dung, it out territory-marks everything from rabbits to cats to foxes – or so it claims. The problem seems to be that lions’ poo is not consistent and some batches aren’t as effective as others, depending on what they had for dinner. Don’t be put off by the word ‘fertiliser’ that’s just to do with EU regulations which, at the moment, don’t allow it to be called what it is – a cat and fox deterrent. If you try it let me know how you get on please.
Here’s an article that seems to give some sensible advice: http://foxproject.org.uk/deterrence/
