Well done if they are but mine certainly are not. The very hot weather plus spells of torrential rain have left it looking a bit sad with some plants flourishing and others much diminished. Curiously anything in purple seems to be doing well; my wisteria is almost in full bloom again with alliums, buddleia and verbena bonariensis all flourishing. I’m chopping back anything that is past its best in the hope of another flush next month and I think I might cheat and buy a few filler plants from one of our excellent local garden centres. It’s also a good time to think about what I can improve for next year and take a note now before I forget. However none of the above stops me enjoying a glass of wine and a chat with friends in the garden – not even a little light drizzle.
