GARDEN GURU: I know it’s corny but each year the first tulips make me think of the old Max Bygraves song which starts: ‘When it’s Spring again I’ll bring again Tulips from Amsterdam’ – and I promise myself that I will visit Holland to see the spring bulbs.
I haven’t yet, but for anyone thinking about it there are several tour operators who offer a range of excursions.
It seems that Keukenhof Park, between Amsterdam and The Hague, makes the best eye-popping day out.

There are more than 7 million bulbs with a total of 800 varieties of tulips.
Their website has a weekly update charting the progress of the bulbs in bloom with lots of advice as to how to plan your trip, where to stay and how to make the best of the 32 acre site: http://www.keukenhof.nl/en/
Take a look at their video, you’ll be desperate to go: https://youtu.be/v-mz6MYhGZg
