Spectacular Water Gardens are loved throughout the world but are they really suitable for the average London plot? The owners of these gardens think so.
Personally I think large bodies of water in our small gardens require too much effort for the reward but it is vital for a healthy eco-system to have some somewhere – even a bowl of water somewhere helps many creatures live a more comfortable life.
Large, purpose-made ‘bowls have become very popular over the last couple of years and I can see why although I haven’t tried one myself.
If you have please let me know how you’re getting on with it. I believe Americans are calling them ‘patio ponds’, rather a neat summation, and here’s a handy video which explores the general idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj2npKheztw
