Don’t be fooled by the rather dull weather we’ve been having – plants still need to be watered, especially potted ones. 
Watering can be a chore but the right tools, along with the right attitude (a spoon full of sugar etc), can make it a pleasure. 
I love the 4.5l Metal Professional Long Reach Can by Haw’s. It comes in pleasing colours with a marvellous oval brass rose which gives a satisfying spray, fine but fulsome, if you know what I mean. 
The long spout gives great balance and means less getting your legs wet as you reach to the back of the border – it also helps to give good, constant pressure. Of course all this clever stuff comes at a price – £64.99 at Waitrose but it is guaranteed to last 20 years which means you’re only splashing out £3.25 a year!
