Do you have beautifully organised shoes? For some reason most people dream of perfectly paired and presented shoes but end up in a great shoe shuffle pulling a pile of singles from under the bed or some other inconvenient dumping ground.

This week At Home is going to square up to the situation: here are some creative ways to organise your footwear – some solutions may be a step too far for you – but they are all bound to keep you on your toes.
Hidden beneath a Valance

I don’t think this would work for me – too fiddly and then you would have an odd bulge to the bed which you would be bound to get snagged up in. Next please.
Shoes on a Wall Rail Display

Fit some mouldings on the wall and display your shoes like art. That’s the theory anyway but really, will your shoes look like this? – could be a good reason to get some new, brightly coloured pairs (and keep the rest under the bed).
Rack’em up Behind a Curtain

This could be good for a shallow alcove which is not much use for anything else.
Hide them in a Seat or Bench

These handy stools sit under a console table in the hallway – not a bad idea – seating and storage combined.

A bench like this does a similar job.
Labelled Shoeboxes

I like my shoes in boxes – these are rather smart with their handy instagram-style labels.

Better still, use clear plastic boxes – I learnt this trick from my mother,

but I like the vintage look of these boxes.
Stairway of Shoes

This is clever

but I don’t like this so much – I worry that someone will trip up, besides the messy vibe.
Perfection

Ikea suggest you buy some of these from them – great if you have the space.

And this looks pretty good too – perfect in fact.
Don’t forget – you can win some new shoes in our Spot-it! competition this month ion association with our partner Kokos. For details see https://www.prickettandellis.com/spot-it-2/
