BRITISH CRAFT PAVILION
Exceptional craft at Old Truman Brewery from 22 – 25 September
British Craft Pavilion is part of the London Design Fair and features work from over 100 exceptional British makers. With 20 individual stands, contemporary dining room presentations, a chance to sample the delights of our Directory makers and the first UK showing of Nature Lab it is one of the London Design Festival 2016 events not to miss.

The 20 outstanding makers selling their work at the event cover many disciplines including: glass from Cathryn Shilling, Max Jacquard and Stuart Akroyd: Owen Leather and Georgina Brett Chinnery’s luxe leather creations: wonders in wood from J. Shorrock and Forest + Found: Angus Ross’ beautifully handcrafted furniture: an abundance of wondrous ceramics from Adele Howitt,Ali Tomlin, Elliot Ceramics, Harry Morgan, Heidi Harrington, Leonora Richardson, Linda Bloomfield, Paul Wearing and Zoë Hillyard: Louise Gardiner’slovely contemporary embroidery: and creatures and creations made from recycled and found objects, from Barbara Franc and Ella Robinson.

We also have an exciting partnership with Contemporary Applied Arts and National Trust who have curated five distinctive dining settings, using home and tableware from the Crafts Council Directory, Contemporary Applied Arts and the National Trust.

We’ll also be showing off our Crafts Council Directory stand – a stand of samples to satisfy your curiosity, exhibiting the vast array of talent on the Directory. Be delighted by beautiful glass samples to intricate marquetry.
Finally our immersive experience Nature Lab that previewed at Design Miami/ Basel in June will also be displayed. Nature Lab tells the story of nature transformed by six British craft talents and is presented by Crafts Council and The New Craftsmen. Each maker has developed radical new techniques to transform such everyday substances as wood, sand, salt, clay, flowers and ice into objects of wonder. The six makers in Nature Lab are Eleanor Lakelin: Emily Gardiner: Jochen Holz: Joseph Harrington: Marcin Rusak: and Marlène Huissoud.
