Listed number 1 in the 2015 Sunday Times ‘Best Places to Live in London’, Alexandra Park has amazing schools, including Rhodes Avenue Primary School and Alexandra Park School. Alexandra Palace – “The Peoples’ Palace”, built for recreation and enjoyment for all in 1875, now hosts sporting events, a permanent ice-skating rink, regular Farmer’s markets and possibly soon to have a new ‘Go Ape’ (Haringey decision pending). The Albert Recreation Ground has public all weather flood-lit tennis courts, as well as basketball courts and games pitches. The Bowling Club is also being restored. There is an excellent local shopping parade with a range of independent traders. For fitness buffs there is The Laboratory Spa & Health Club, a superb gym voted best in the country in 2012. Another highlight is the Sunshine Garden Centre, which was originally an outdoor Lido for swimming, as well as a billet for troops during the second world war. Transport links include Alexandra Palace Overgroud – which will be a central part of the Crossrail 2 development and Bounds Green tube station on the Piccadilly Line.
