Highgate Office

Our Highgate branch with its stunning floral display is perfectly placed to serve the historic Highgate Village. With un-rivalled expertise our office is a hub of knowledge and information about this beautiful area of North London.

The partnership of Prickett & Ellis Estate Agents in Highgate was formed in 1885. Highgate Village is as much the village it has been for the last 400years (except for the traffic). At its heart is the ancient Pond Square N6 (the pond was drained around 1850). 17th century The Grove and South Grove N6 nearby have housed many celebrities including famous writers and musicians, both past and present.

From here Highgate West Hill N6 leads down to Highgate Ponds and Hampstead Heath via Fitzroy Park N6 with 1920’s Angela Burdett Coutts’s gated Holly Lodge Estate opposite. Highgate High Street N6 and Highgate Hill N6 still retain many 17th and 18th century shops and houses perched high over London – the highest point is the architect Lubetkin’s 1930’s Highpoint the luxury flat development on North Road N6.

Following in the tracks of the Great Northern Railway the Victorian and Edwardian developers provided elegant suburbs where once were forests, heaths and farms. The now unused Highgate Station sits above Highgate Underground Station on the Northern Line.

The mansions of Shepherds Hill and Hornsey Lane N6 take the Highgate N.6 postcode down to Crouch End N8 and Hornsey while Muswell Hill Road N6 and Wood Lane N6 still wind through Highgate Woods and Queens Woods to Muswell Hill. Highgate School and Channing School provide the best in private education.
