The big event today is the total solar eclipse which, in London, can be seen this morning as a partial eclipse starting at 8.45am reaching its maximum around at 9.31 am and fading to nothing by 10.41am. It would be brilliant if we have clear weather and can really enjoy this natural phenomenon but it is looking unlikely – the forecast is for the very common British eclipse of the sky by clouds.
