OUT AND ABOUT: Do something different this weekend and take up the invitation of the artists participating in Crouch End Open Studios to visit them, see where they work and appreciate what they do. It’s great fun and a lovely way to meet people – and if you flag for a moment, well, you’re never far from an invigorating cup of coffee in Crouch End.

Here’s a bit more about the event from the people themselves:

Crouch End Open Studios
If your idea of a perfect spring day includes a gentle stroll around one of North London’s quirkiest and most loved villages, stopping along the way to see some great original art, then Crouch End Open Studios (CEOS) is a must for your diary. And all the more so because, even before you set out, you’ll know for sure that your route will take you past some of the best coffee shops, pubs and independent retailers in the city.
Now in its 11th year, CEOS has become a firm fixture on Crouch End’s cultural calendar, providing art-loving Crouch Enders (and many from further afield) with an opportunity to get to know local artists and view and buy their work.

This year 30 local artists are taking part, with all venues just a short walk from the Clocktower. Each artist will have new work on show, covering a wide variety of media including ceramics, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture and mixed media – so whatever your taste, there’s a good chance you’ll find something you love.

In addition to individual artists’ venues, Hornsey Town Hall will be hosting a Group Show taster exhibition featuring at least one work by each of the artists participating in CEOS 2015. This is a fantastic opportunity not just to check out the art, pick up a leaflet and plan your art trail, but also to see inside this iconic Grade II* listed building, widely acknowledged to be one of the finest examples of Modernist architecture in the country. The Town Hall will be open throughout the CEOS weekend, from Friday 8 May to Sunday 10 May, 11am – 7pm.
