The main event this weekend is on Sunday because, as you all know, it’s Mothering Sunday. As a mother myself I am a bit ambivalent about having a day named after me – shouldn’t every day be Mother’s Day? However, that seems a bit mealy mouthed, it’s always fun to get together with the family and anyway, what’s wrong with being showered with chocolates, flowers and sundry gifts?
Treat her to lunch out, we’re drowning in good places so it’s not too late to book a table somewhere – the Clissold Arms have a pianist playing from 1-3pm during lunch which she may like. If she prefers staying in mix it up by arranging an indoor picnic with a selection of yummy things from one of our fabulous delis and bakeries.
As a change from a box of chocolates how about surprising her with a chocolate tasting course, http://www.beantobarchocolate.co.uk/chocolate-tastings/pralus-london/, a local chocolate specialist.
And then there are flowers; we have several excellent florists and two brilliant garden centres so there’s really no excuse not to make her day bloomin marvellous.
