Pretty much everyone has had a version of this pattern in their home at some point or another: wallpaper, plastic tablecloth, oven gloves, notebook cover, mugs, shopping bag, et al. It’s called Willow Boughs, by William Morris, who, as everyone knows, once wrote: “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful”. He of impeccable good taste created this everlasting design in 1887, it comes in a range of colours and would surely be in the top 10 hit parade of the nation’s favourite domestic designs.
