Wednesday Moodboard: Spring is Here!

It may be raining, it may be cold, but the signs that spring is here are all over –  and they are wonderful. So, this week, I am in the mood for Spring!

You probably heard the Wordsworth poem about daffodils yesterday as it was World Poetry Day but he was right wasn’t he – they really are a cheery sight.
Mad March hares – famously boxing.
Always adorable – lambs gambolling.
A little less attractive, but still fascinating, frogs and frogspawn.
Birds are busy – I am so cheered by the energy of the dawn chorus and the comings and goings of busy nest builders.
Yes, of course I have to include baby chicks and rabbits – all young things are just made to be cute.
Bombus terrestris – Britain’s largest bee leads the charge in spring but there will be lots of them about from now onwards,
and butterflies too. This Peacock Butterfly was seen on the 6 March.
There are so many lovely spring blossoms around with everything from kerria japonica to cherry blossom bursting out their prettiest outfits but, for me, the most moving is the pale, fresh green of newly emerging leaves in the woods. Magical.
